Cebu City - New Life but NO POST

It has been more than a month since I relocated here in Cebu City, Philippines. It's more than a month as well since the last time I posted something here. I got a lot of pending post on my draft, but all of them do not have photos on them. I do not have the hard drive with me, so I can't work and finish anything.

I really miss blogging. Once in a while I check out blog posts, especially those bloggers who posted their links in Facebook and Twitter. I wish I always have a computer or laptop. Right now, I borrowed a friend's lappy, so I can watch movie on my rest days, but a brilliant idea came to me. Why not enable my phone's tether and quickly make a post ;-)

I'd like to thank those bloggers who never fail to visit here. Thanks a lot. I'm still trying to adapt the city life. My pimples are killing me everyday. Every two weeks, we're given a new schedule. I really have to bear with it, coz I'm still in training. I miss the things I'd left behind in Dumaguete.

Though I'm starting to have new friends here in Cebu city, I still miss my old friends. I still can't forget the word "chilling" everytime I went out with them. Here, chilling is partying. I know how to party, but it has never been my thing. I love to hang out with friends, and partying is like faking the bond. I want something real like talking and laughing.

I have a lot of friends here though, but everybody's busy except during night outs. My co-border here in my apartment asked me where do I always go after work, because he has never seen my room lit up even night time. Yeah I always go out with friends, and my money's running out before payday comes. lol I'm not a loner, and I can't stay in my room whole day without someone to talk to. I easily got bored except today when I have something to write.

I realized my next project is to get a laptop. How much is a laptop? I wish there's a Php 2000.00. I'll buy myself right away. lol

Thanks for everything blogger friends and readers. I still receive traffic even I'm away.

Valencia Negros Oriental - Cata-al World War II Museum

I visited Cata-al World War II Museum in Valencia, Negros Oriental last time. The Museum displays old and vintage collections of World War II artifacts.
photo by Roel Hoang Manipon of Lakbay Pilipinas

It was the late Porferio Cata-al, Sr. who started collecting these priceless memorabilia. He was a private of the Filipino guerrilla movement when the Japanese took over Valencia, Negros Oriental. It was during his funeral wake last November, 2012 when I discovered that Cata-al WW II Museum existed in Valencia, Negros Oriental.
photo by Randy Anderson of Pinoy Topics
His son, Felix Constantino Villa Cata-al, helped his father in gathering WWII collections. The museum is part of their modest two-story house. Visitors are free to see the artifacts and relics, but a donation box for maintenance can be considered.

The place is easy to find. It's even listed in Dumaguete City Tourism office as one of the attractions in the province. Mr. Cata-al (son) told us that he was offered with considerable money by many antique collectors.

But he wouldn't agree if collectors only wanted to buy a piece of the artifacts. He intended to sell all of them in one price. He has a point, and for the mean time, all these are still in their family's possession.

I was really amazed Cata-al Family's fashion over these precious antiques. I hope it will stay in Valencia, Negros Oriental for many more years.
Till here. I'm gonna be busy the entire month. I hope you wouldn't get tired visiting my space. I'll be working in a new city, and I'm starting from the scratch. I don't even have my own place yet, and still staying with a friend.

Valencia, Negros Oriental - The Forest Camp

I am not busy, but I was just consumed with a lot of things these past few days. I got a short vacation back to my hometown. My company offered a new position for a new job here in Dumaguete City, but I already decided to settle in Cebu. My mind is fixed. I have to move on. My ex asked another chance, but I just realized, there's plenty of fish in the sea.

Valencia, Negros Oriental - Japanese Shrine Adventure

Together with Walter and Sue, we went to see the Filipino-Japanese Amity Memorial Shrine. Located in the hilltop of Valencia, Negros Oriental, the shrine marks the place where both Filipino and American soldiers especially the Negrosanon guerilla units (people in Negros Oriental) fought against the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II

Sta. Catalina - Out of Town with Friends

We went to Sta. Catalina to escape from the hassles and bustles of the city. It’s a first-class municipality of Negros Oriental province in the Philippines. The specific outing destination is a friend’s native rest house in Mansanagan, Kabulacan, Sta. Catalina. Thanks a lot Sam for the invitation and the ride! Lemme show how relaxing the short vacay we had.

Ramdom Blabber of a Blogger

We meet different people in different times.  Some of them may touch our lives and has to leave us with their wonderful marks. When I was young, I was reluctant in making close friends. I was usually skeptical and doubtful when a person showed some kindness. But that really changed, when I am left with no choice, but to adopt the world of ‘call center” industry.

Cebu City - Im at the TOPS of World.

Tops is one of the must-see places in Cebu. It's my third visit in this place, but I still couldn't get enough of the breath-taking view and scenery of Cebu City and Mactan Island. It gives you a 360 degree view from the top Mt. Busay with the elevation of about 610 meters above sea level.

Azalea Restaurant - Most Romantic Place in Dumaguete City

Azalea Restaurant may not be a popular bistro in Dumaguete City, but with the ambiance and panoramic view, you'll definitely have a gratifying meal. Though the foods are not that gastronomic, still, I found the place the most romantic restaurant in Dumaguete City.

Apo Island - Exploring the Island's Beauty

Another post about Apo Island guys. I just wanted to clarify that Apo Island is different from Apo Reef in Occidental Mindoro. The island is in Negros Oriental, and it's really an island not a big series of coral reefs. And, FYI the latter is more famous for its beautiful contiguous coral reef system compared to the former.

TeleTech Summer Party 2013

I noticed that I only had one blog post for the month of May last year. That's because almost all activities for summer started in March. All the plans for getaways were in March as well - the bookings, the inquiries, and etc.

Mabinay Spring Resort - Zipline for the first time

I had a blast last week! I went to Cebu City, Philippines but this is not what I am blogging about. I'll be blogging about Mabinay Spring Resort. I just remembered my first Zipline experience. When we went to one of the highest peak in Cebu City, a Korean tourist tried their Zipline. It was his first time, and he really peed on his pants. Everybody laughs at him, and he was so furious that they went home right away. They didn't even finish their food.

Boracay Island - Mediterranean Vacation at Le Soleil de Boracay

I never wanted to share my Boracay Escapade here on my blog, because I wasn't a travel blogger then. But, I started posting it last time in HERE. I promised myself to visit the place again, and this time I'll enjoy the place more than ever. And, out of boredom, I started to reminisce all those white sand beaches in my 2011 summer.

Tambobo Bay - Road Trip with Boo Boo

Happy hearts everyone! Most people find it depressing if you we don't have dates on Valentines Day, but, it's not depressing at all. We have friends and families. Even if I have a partner, I spent my Valentines Day with my friends. My partner has to go to work, and we already had a make up date before Valentines Day. We're not so clingy with each other, and we meet up once a week or three times a month.

Manjuyod White Sandbar - A Perfect Valentine Group Date

Valentine's Day is coming. I love to be with a partner on a date, but I usually prefer to be in a group date. I find it more fun and cool. My mother often told me before that you would get to know a person when he's surrounded with his friends and families. That I can never forget from my mom. And that is often true.

Valencia Camp Lookout - An Unexpected Trip

For almost six years here in Valencia, Negros Oriental, I never thought that I'd reached Camp Lookout this late afternoon. This is used to be a favorite hangout place during the early 1980's, but since it's now privately owned, it's no longer maintained for tourism purposes. Though the place is really beautiful and still continue to provide panoramic view of Dumaguete City, the gate is usually closed and restricted.

Whale Watching Oslob - Encounter with the Friendly Butanding

The cold holiday season is about to expire. With the many low atmospheric pressures in our area in the past few days, typhoons are seems to be frequently visiting my poor place here in Dumaguete City.

Since, Cebu island is not far away from Dumageute City, I cannot keep from thinking what had happened to the whale sharks in Tanawan, Oslob, Cebu, Philippines. The friendly marine giants has said to easily detect the coming of the super typhoon "Pablo" that hit Cebu Island with signal no. 3 status.
