Taoist Temple - Visit in Cebu City

Taoist Temple is situated in 300-meter elevation in Beverly Hills Subdivision, Cebu City, Philippines. The temple was built in 1972 by the Chinese community in Cebu focusing the worship of Taoism, a religion that follows Lao Zi.

Though tourists and non-worshipers are invited to come in, still, the solemnity of the place is preserved. People taking pictures managed to keep quiet and maintain smiles instead of giggles and laughter. Most students who visit Cebu City for field-trips never miss coming to this temple as one of their itineraries.

If you’re a worshiper or a believer, rituals to call god’s attention for a wish can be done. Wash your hands, then, you go inside the chapel barefoot and get the two blocks of wood. You can have a wish come true if the two blocks of wood are face up after dropping it, otherwise, you’ll have next time and wait until the gods will grant you their favor.
I forgot to count the steps, but the hike was really challenging.
Another ritual is climbing to 81 steps, which means 81 chapters of Taoism scriptures, then reaching the top, you’ll light joss sticks and the monks will read your fortune.

finally! look at the Dragon. It's actually big, I tell you.
Seeing the temple from the entrance, would remind you with the Great Wall of China. The place was really worth all the challenging hikes. Thought it's my second time here, it's still feels like my first time.

sorry for the blurred photo. I took this from my phone.
Other than the chapel, the Temple also has a library, souvenir shop, and wishing well. It also offer scenic seascape and landscape views.
I went to Cebu City last month. I'm hoping for another trip next month. I'll probably try to get inside the Temple this time and make a wish. Thank you for your visits today. Please leave your marks.
