Cambugahay Waterfalls - Siquijor's Charm

Siquijor Island is not only known for its folklores, magic, premitive healing, and mysterious stories of supernatural beings. It also gives us the enchanting beauty of Cambugahay waterfalls. It's a five-level waterfall cascading from the top. Viewing it from the first time, the tedious hiking and trek downward would definitely be forgotten.
This was the exact scenery that captivated my eyes after all the vent and complaint I've done while walking downward.

The hike, yes, I'd never forget how I complain while gasping for air, because it was really a long walk downstairs. I never tired in complaining you know. I love waterfalls, but I also couldn't get over with the long walks and hikings. If only these beautiful sceneries are displayed infront of the plaza rotonda and parks, I'd probably never get to experience nagging pain in my legs for many years now. I couldn't afford to see a doctor for this leg problem, so I have to bear it until I get old.
This was the stairway that really took all my "powers." chos!
Re-touching lol. Because I was sweaty.
This was the second waterfall. I didn't have the will to see the third one, because I was so darn tired.
We needed to be careful here, because the rocks were slippery.
This was the photo I took from my photo. I couldn't get balance, so this was the result.
My friend, Walter, took this photo. The water was really inviting, but I didn't dare. I couldn't. I'm not a swimmer.
I got my own version of the photo. lol This how the water looked like in my eyes.
Cambugahay Waterfalls is actually the single and most famous waterfalls in the province. How to get to these multi-layered waterfalls

Other Country? Book a trip to Manila, Philippines
From Manila, book a trip to Cebu City.
From Cebu City, book a shuttle to Siquijor Island
From Siquijor port, ride a public vehicle to Lazi, Siquijor
Five-minute motorcycle ride to Cambugahay Waterfalls

The locals were grateful and accomodating. No one would deceive you, especially if you're a tourist and a foreigner in the place. The island is actually more dependent on its tourism industry, so they wouldn't be doing nasty things to tourist like us.
Finally, I posed. There were lot of takes, but I rather not pose them here, 'coz my face was really oily and sweaty.

We didn't stay long, because people were starting to come. I didn't have plan to swim, and we still had to visit some other places in Siquijor then. Our destination was actually Salagdoong Beach Resort. Click HERE.

Thank you for visiting. I promise to post a little more than the usual. I am still going to continue amaze you with my nature tripping adventures. Have a great weekend!

Just me,
Phioxee

PS. Thank you to Walter Grapa for some of the photos.

  20. I noticed seeking waterfalls always deals with long walks, treks and trails. Most of the time falls are located in hidden places - inward the mountains, downward trail, endless stairs and long travel trips before doing a trail. But the reward after is truly worthy!

  35. Awwww....kawawa ka naman. Ano ba nagyari d'yan sa iyong paa? Ipatingin mo na kasi sa doktor 'yan. Mahirap kung lumala pa iyan.

As for me, I don't mind the long walk as long as my destination looks really good. Nature spots that tend to be located at hard-to-reach places are less prone to destruction caused by humans. Naiinis kasi ako kapag nakakaita ako ng basura sa binibisita kong lugar.

Good place. I want to visit it. :-)

  43. Wow, this is so amazing! I never knew Siquijor had such a wonderful natural beauty and waterfalls. I've only set foot on the dock there when we took the fast waterjet ferry from Dapitan to Cebu, and unfortunately the waves made my wife sick, so we didn't spend much time there at all. Now I really want to go sometime! Thanks for this great post and photos! Thanks also for following my blog (Black Swamp Cornucopia).

    Best regards!
