Bais City - Christmas Switch On Ceremony.

Almost every year, the city of Bais in Negros Oriental launches a ceremony to switch on their big Christmas Tree. Together with my friends, we witness how grandiose these lights are.

Pasko is a Filipino term for Christmas
A Lot of people coming from the nearby municipalities and cities just to visit the place and to witness the Swith-On ceremony of their big Christmas Tree. Bais City is a 2nd class city in the province of Negros Oriental, Philippines. It's the largest producer of raw sugar. They have two sugar mills - Central Azucarera de Bais and Universal Robina Sugar Milling Corporation.
I am so sorry for these blurry photos. I only have a P&S camera.
This is the Christmas Tree. Photo by AHrt Chua Rozalem.
I made sure I'd be able to stand near this Christmas Tree just to greet Archieviner.
Take 1 - Sorry I forgot to put in the "ang gwapo mo Archieviner." wala ng space eh!
Take 2 - sorry din sa penmanship ko. super nagmamadali na kasi ako. after work pa yan at maiiwan na ako.
Finally! The people around me was annoyed with the camera's flash. I was also requesting some of them to give way. Merry Christmas, ARCHIEVINER!
If it wasn't for this blogger's request, I wouldn't be travelling for almost two hours to get in Bais City. He asked if his blogger friends could pose under a Christmas Tree/decor greeting him in a photo. I find this idea cute, so why not try. CLICK HERE to see how he came up with this request.

I really couldn't tell much about the place other than it's really crowded. We stayed for a couple of hours, and went home by midnight. Let me show you the rest of the Christmas decorations.

Blurry pic. I really cannot keep my hands from shaking.
Details under the Christmas Tree.
I'm with Ysabelle, my friend's daughter. She's such a sweet girl.
That's a super big Santa Claus under a big Christmas Tree.
And of course, a real Santa Claus roaming around to give candies to children.
There are also big statues of the Three Kings in the area. But, I don't actually know who this is.
The Belen. I cannot get near this one, because it's so crowded. People are taking pictures and they don't mind blocking other people who are doing the same thing.
The place is more fun for children. There's this little train that circulates around the big Christmas Tree.
The train is safe for children and kids.
The city hall were all lit up with Christmas lights. It looks like a palace from a far.
How I wish I have a DSLR cam with me. The place is really beautiful.

  10. Only the Pinoys know the word "Merry Christmas". Sure we got lights and the cold air here in Europe, but they never give enough warmth in the hearts the way our "trees", our lights and our parols evoke the spirit of the season.

Bonggacious ang tree ha! At si sir Archieviner na talaga ang Super Mr. Popular. May photo ka pa dedicated for him. How sweet! Good job phioxee! At least mapangiti mo naman si sir. Nasa malayong lugar din yan. Wala pang kayakap ngayong Disyembre. Let's cheer him up, shall we? Hehehehe!

It's really a pity though that some of the photos were blurred. Hopefully regaluhan ka ni Santa ng bagong camera. Weh! ehehehe! Pero ok na rin.

The Presidencia de Bais got me curious though. I wish you'd give us some info about the town's history. Perhaps, there's a sugar baron in the land, someone who knows about Mr. Sugar Daddy, the politician I talked about in my blog. Hehehe! Nag plug pa talaga ng sariling blog. Pero kidding aside, I'm quite curious about the town's history.

And as for the penmanship. Humingi ka pa ng sorry ang ayos na nga. At least hindi yan katulad ng godforsaken penmanship ko. Parang nagdrawing ako ng cuneiform o hieroglyphs. Hahahaha!
